Welcome to Brickfilms!
This site is dedicated to the art of stop-motion
animation, specifically the art of animating plastic
bricks.
On this site, the stars are not highly paid hollywood
actors, but little plastic figures.
Some of these movies will be quick childish animations,
some will be well thought out, lovingly crafted works
of intelligence and creativity. This page is
intended to be a source of information and inspiration
to those that wish to create stop motion animation
films using the medium of plastic building bricks.
It also serves as a fantastic source to see these
movies via our film directory. |
NEWS: October 24th, 2003 | |
Bet you didn't expect the Yolegoman posting here, did you? Well, it's me alright. I fixed up the archives. No, it isn't perfect, but all of the logo's are the new logo now, and all of the menu code works. It's a shame that all of the old interviews didn't get put on the new site, but at least they are easier to read now.
One thing I wanted to post, however, was that the "Old News" link now works. Scroll to the bottom and check it out! It was a lot of fun for me to browse all of those old memories... You can also see the REALLY old site at Topcities Archives. The site had only been up for several months, then! I hope you enjoy browsing through the old memories, or, if you joined the community after the new site was up, can see what it was like in the "Old Days". Enjoy! | NEWS: August 9, 2003 |
|
The new site appears to be working well, so the old
site has been placed here in the archive. It's
still a bit of a patchwork, with links not matching
and mis-sized logos, just as it was when it was officially
replaced by the new pages.

see
this announcement for updates on where we
are in the process.

Another Update! Two new films added this time, a quickie
and a short (both just missed out on yesterday's update).
My fave is the short, "The Princess and the Frog",
don't be put off by the fact that it is filmed at
5fps, it rises above this fact in many ways.

Hello film fans! A big update today and a lot
of new films in the Directory. Of great note
are three films I particularly enjoyed. The
first was a western by a group of student, Legoredo.
The second was Bluntman's Star Wars trailer,
Star Wars: Last Strike. The third is Doug James's
Metro, which he has been working on for a long time
now. Enjoy them all in the Film Directory.
Check out another article about Brickfilms, this one

Cool Collecting

time to mention all the wonderful films here. But
in the interest of space, it's nice to be mentioned,
huh?

Hello folks! If you are in the market for a
webcam or a new camera, please
check out our guide . There have been
a lot of questions lately in the forums, and this
guide is an excellent read. And ... I finally
got some links to Amazon.com, so if you do decide
to buy one, please click through so we can get the
paltry referral fee and get some more bandwidth for
the new site!
Speaking of which, now is a good time to announce
that we are in the process of a redesign. We
are working on a whole new look, new content, and
best of all, a members area! We will also have
a new search able, sortable film database.
Last but not least, Brickfilms got to interview Ben
B or Egoless Productions recently.
Check out the interview here .

Yowsa! 23 new films in the directory today!
It's a feast! There will be another update
shortly with a few more films, but that update took
a lot outta me. It's 5:00 on Friday and I need
a beer. :)
Enjoy, friends.
Whoops, almost forgot. Brickfilms was mentioned
recently in
TVGuide Online (for you Europeans, TVGuide
is just what it sounds like, and has a fairly big
circulation / readership). Welcome, TV Guide
readers! By the way, a small correction . .
. TV Guide did not contact me before writing or printing
this article. I do not recommend the
LEGO camera, especially over the several different
webcams that have popped up recently.

Hey everyone! Are you wondering why there have
been no movies added to the Directory recently? Well,
it's a long story, but basically, I somehow screwed
up the brickfilms_submit@yahoo.com email address.
If you have submitted a film in the last month
or so (bascially, if you don't see it in the directory
yet), please resubmit with the new email address submit_brickfilms@yahoo.com.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Happy filming!
