I really don't know how to say this but, despite the pretty basic animation of lego figures moving around in icing sugar, the low grade effects and the crackling sound effects, I was really touched by this movie. Telling the true story of the seige of Bastogne in the Winter of 1944, this film seems to have surpassed the medium of lego and managed to tell an important and emotional story.
Well done Nathaniel for such an intelligent attempt at story telling. As you say, war is not being glorified here, it's being reported. I would simply take issue with dedicating it to the American soldiers, as I would have included the Germans too, 99% of whom were innocent participants in WWII, but it's your movie and your choice.
Others will find fault with your sound, sets, cinematography and animation, but for me, it was the story that did it. Difficult to rate though, as 'Fun' is not really a relevant category here. I look forward to seeing your next movie.
