This is my very first full-length animated short. The idea for the story came to me not long after I discovered that my parents had kept all my old LEGO from when I was a kid. It was like opening a time capsule - classic space figures, a couple of knights, even the scary old-style round-headed people.
This got me to thinking about what it was like to grow up in the '80s and what our expectations were of the brave new world we'd find when the new millennium dawned in what seemed at the time like the far future. Needless to say, it wasn't anything like what I'd expected. I'm still disappointed that we don't have hover cars yet. They had them on Logan's Run.

This film is part of the Staff's Favorites collection of hali and rstudios. | | This film sits perfectly in the 'Amazing first film' category alongside 'Mystery of the Ewok (MOTE)' and the recently released 'The Letter'.
This film is a showcase of excellent animation, careful cinematography, great plot AND old skool lego goodness. Look out for the amazingly smooth dolly shot, amusing dialogue and neat use of forced perspective.
To say anything about the film's plot would spoil it. Do yourself a favour and download this one now.
