Firstly, this film, quite obviously, contains spoilers for the book. I'm also not sure why the director has zipped the .rm file, as it only saves a few thousand bytes and makes it slightly more awkward to view the film. I guess it is one way of ensuring we download the film rather than stream it. Finally, the dialogue is in German, but that's not really important.
OK, with that out of the way, let's discuss this 'trailer'. I actually don't think this is like most trailers, which tend to be an amalgam of exciting clips in no particular order. Whatwe have here is more like a very abridged version of the book, reminding me of The Reduced Shakespeare Company doing the complete works of Shakespeare in two hours.
What is impressive is that the director has taken the care to construct some truly impressive sets, spectacular lighting set-ups, including back lighting and internal lights, ambitious camera moves and clever cinematography, for each short clip. The animation is perhaps the one element which fails in places, but the standard is still generally high.
In conclusion, I liked the HP4 trailer and I like this one even more. What I would like to see now is the director to use his skills and sets to create a complete scene rather than produce more trailers.
Worth the download.
