Robota is a stop-motion film done entirely with Lego and Mega-bloks.
I shot this film in my basement studio and worked on it on and off for three years.
A lot of the Lego is from sets I had saved from when I was a kid. I also bought a whole bunch of new sets.
The story: In a Lego underworld, a down and out robot searches for a quick fix. |

One look at this film and you will be awestruck. From the detailed and delicate animation, to the moving story, to the beautiful lighting, this film doesn't cease to amaze. With a noticeable high frame-rate, it is easy to immerse yourself in the film. Easily worthy of a double viewing, Robota is easily the best brickfilm to not use minifigs. The scale of the sets is extraordinary, as they appear to be at least twice the size of what would be required for a traditional brickfilm.
An instant classic, I reccomend viewing to all, even if moody isn't your usual style.
This film is a prime example of what can be done with heart, dedication, and alot of time animating ;) The camera work was excellent, sets were enourmous and highly detailed, alot of imagination went into the characters also. This film is much bigger scale than any other brickfilms on this site IMO. The story is simple but is presented in such a way that it needs no dialouge, just sounds and cinematography. This is 100% worth your time.
