The Man with the Top Hat is my entry to the Fame, Infamy, and Glory competition. It is, as you can tell by the title, about the Man with the Top Hat. Back in May 2006, when I made this, I had no idea what good voice acting was, and I didn't even really think that my story wasn't that good. So, of course, this film suffers from poor voice acting and a very simple story. Oh yeah... It got sixth place out of thirteen entries. Not bad, since it technically is my first real film.

This film is very technically impressive, especially coming from such a new director. The cinematography is at times inventive and interesting, but the almost exclusive use of wide, aerial shots seems a bit excessive. The animation is excellent, as are the large sets. The story is, as the director mentions, simple and more than a little implausible. The humor makes up for this, though. The voices, with the exception of the robot, lack variety and could probably be improved. Nonetheless, this is a nice, short film that is well worth the download.
