Two men and their lunch break. What would it take to make them stand up and go after their task, to make them go after their... dangerous calling?
The idea of this brickfilm spooked around in my head for a while, and I am quite pleased with the way it turned out. I am also a little proud of it, since there are basically two main aspects that haven’t been converted into a brickfilm like that yet. Most people got the overall joke too, which is not that easy for a director to achieve. Click the discussion link if you want to know more about the director’s intention.
The stereo effect is quite important in this film, so please watch this with headphones.
This was my Ten-Lines-Contest entry, and it became third place overall, after Leftfield’s “Unmasked” and An Old Ore’s “Transaction”. |

Finally, another film from Holgor! This film's strong point is it's script, which was the whole point of the Ten Lines Contest in the first place. The ten required lines are intergrated well and don't stand out. The animation is decent, but the camera quality could be better. The weakest part of this film is the voice acting. All the voices are done by one person, and they all sound the same. Keep an eye and ear out for some inside jokes referring both to Holger's past films and other classic brickfilms. All in all, A Dangerous Calling is another must-see film from Holgor.
