This film was my entry for Brickfilms.com's IDEA (Inventions, Discoveries, and Extraordinary Achievements) contest. It was awarded first place; I was both honored and pleasantly surprised by this. The film tells the story of the Greek inventor Archimedes as he struggles to solve a difficult problem for the king. The story is based (loosely) on a legend first recorded by the writer Vitruvius.
Thank you to the organizers of the IDEA contest and to the judges who took the time to watch all the entries and vote for your support. There were some excellent entries in this contest and I'm sure judging was very difficult, this is evident in the close final scores.
Enjoy! |

Technically and Visually, Crown of Syracuse is one of the best brickfilms I've ever seen. the set design is nice, lighting is realistic, cgi is used well, and the camera movements (though they get a little bit old) are effective.
The story is predictable, probably because it is such a well-known tale. Despite this and some voice acting problems, this film is definately worth the download. You might even want to go for one of the more enormous versions of the film.
