Pugnacious meets all of the requirements to be a Dictionary Series film, though not very well. Animation is good, and the white expanse is well-lit, but the action on-screen doesn't really reflect the word properly, and the end credits have very annoying and loud music playing over them This film has difficulty from standing out from the rest of the Dictionary Series films because it, like many of the new Dictionary Series films, all employ similar slapstick humor that loses more of it's humor every time another Dictionary Series film uses it.
