An over-the-top poetic tale of an oven in its death throes, The oven features some creative lines, a few chuckles, and some rather impressive fire effects. The animation is solid throughout, though not particularly taxing. This is no small feat, since high definition resolution has a way of making animation appear choppy unless it's done very well.
All considered, it's an excellent little short. I made the exceptionally good choice of downloading the HD version, which really brings it alive. (If you have the means, I highly recommend viewing everything this way -- it's so choice).
Though the fire is impressive, it rekindles the debate of realism vs. appropriateness in brickfilms effects. The fire certainly looks convincing, but almost too much so. The nature of brickfilms seems to necessitate effects that lean toward the cartoonish in order to be seamless, but this is a matter for another place.
And thus the weary reviewer completed his work
T'was enjoyable, quickly finished; writing was a breeze
Pausing, he wonders if the director may think him a jerk
But having completed a quick poem he now rests with ease
