This film is part of the Staff's Favorites collection of Felix | | A sophisticated film from Oblong Pictures. In a wonderfully slow pace, Buxton shows one of the most important facts of this hobby. The film is well-balanced, has great animation, picture quality and sound, and a good set. If you've ever made an animation, this is a must-see. If you want to know what it is like animating a film, this is a must-see.
Well, what can I say? Great selection. Not only is Bertrand Russell one of the best mathematical minds of the 20th century, his words of wisdom are applicable to ANY past-time. I don't think I can pick a flaw with the presentation(damn!). The animation, as always, was extremely smooth and effective. Picture quality is crisp as anything, lighting excellent and the set was wonderfully simplistic. I love how you can see some shrubbery just outside the window (out of focus) and how the light outside changes as the 'hours' pass. All in all, this film suceeds because the Words of Wisdom themselves are excellent and they are tied directly to the animation in a meaningful and clever way.
