A note concerning opening video files in Axogon: If you have Windows XP, video files will not open. There is a fix for this, though. Set the compatibility mode for the program such that you can open video files in XP. To do this, locate the Composer.exe file, and click on "properties." Under the compatibility tab, check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows 98/ME, then click OK. This should allow you to open most video files normally.
First off, create a three tracks, the first two being source, and the third as a color keyer track with inputs set as track 1 and 2 respectively, double click on the button that says "Source" on track 1.
It should bring up a thing with video settings and a "browse" button to find the backround video or picture you want. (look at the picture below)
Select the video or picture for the backround you want, and then click OK on the window. Click where it says source on track 2 and select the foreground using the browse menu.
(this should be the video that has a blue or green screen in the back.) Once you have selected the video, click OK. Now, click on the grey box that says "track 3" on it.
It should bring up a screen with the current frame. On track three, click where it says "Color Keyer".
It should bring up another window. Choose the color that matches with your green or blue screen by clicking on the green box below the buttons that say "track 1" and "track 2".
Using the eye dropper button on the window that comes up, select the correct backround color to "key out" on the foreground, by clicking on the blue/green screen part of the foreground video on the track three window that is open
This should select the correct color, so click OK on the color choice window. Now, looking at the track three viewing window, (you might want to save before you do this, because you might mess it up while expirimenting) and the color keyer window, expiriment by dragging the lines on the color keyer window, moving them up and down and side to side so you can see what each one does.
Their is no perfect setting for the color keyer, it always depends on all the lighting and setup. So, when you are satified with it, click ok, and save again. On the bar at the top of the screen, click rendering, and select render options.
Toy with the settings are the way you want them. (or do a small-resolution preview version) and click the render button at the bottom of the window. Wait for it to finished rendering, or cut it off when it gets to the point you want to see, and you're done!
